To get live Twitter updates on your phone:

  1. Log on to Twitter.
  2. Click on "SETTINGS" in the top navigation, then click on "DEVICES".
  3. Enter your phone number, and text the verification code to Twitter at 40404.
  4. When you want updates on your phone or IM, text the word "ON" to Twitter at 40404.
  5. To stop getting updates simply, text the word "OFF" to Twitter at 40404. You'll receive a confirmation message and all Twitter notifications will cease.

You can change who you're following on Twitter just as easy:

  1. From the Twitter site, just select "Following" from your "Stats" section.
  2. Then, select "ON" or "OFF" in the "DEVICE UPDATES" section to choose who you want to follow.
